Applications are now open for a Capacity Building Training Programme for Sri Lankan Handcrafted Jewellery Designers – Beginners Programme, organized by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.

The training programme will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Jaipur, India, from 6 July to 23 July 2026 and is aimed at aspiring jewellery designers who possess basic knowledge of handcrafted jewellery design.

Programme Details

  • Programme: Capacity Building Programme for Sri Lankan Handcrafted Jewellery Designers
  • Course Title: Computer Aided Designing (CAD)
  • Training Provider: Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Jaipur
  • Duration: 18 Days (6 Hours per Day)
  • Training Mode: On-Campus (IIGJ, Jaipur, India)
  • Training Period: 6 July – 23 July 2026

What You Will Learn

Participants will receive practical training in:

  • Rhinoceros 3D CAD software
  • 3D jewellery design and modelling techniques
  • Converting 2D sketches into 3D jewellery designs
  • Design evaluation and material optimization
  • Creating 3D print-ready jewellery models
  • Practical CAD tools and editing techniques

The programme is designed to strengthen both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required in the gem and jewellery industry.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be below 30 years of age
  • Possess basic knowledge of handcrafted jewellery designing
  • Have adequate knowledge of the English language
  • Be mentally and physically fit
  • Possess a valid passport with at least six months’ validity

Not Eligible to Apply

The following applicants are not eligible:

  • Holders of an Advanced Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Jewellery Designing
  • Applicants with more than two years of experience as Jewellery Designers
  • Applicants without adequate English language proficiency

Selection Process

Due to the limited number of seats available, participants will be selected through a formal interview process.
