Calling Applications for Admission of Students to the National Diploma in Technology (NDT) Courses (2026/2027 Intake) Conducted by the Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa (ITUM) at Diyagama, Homagama
The National Diploma in Technology (NDT) Course consists of two years of academic study and one year of Industrial Training and is conducted in English Medium. The course is offered in the following of study:

Required Qualifications
- Applicants should have obtained passes in all three subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Combined Mathematics or Higher Mathematics
- These passes should have been obtained at one and the same sitting of the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination conducted by the Commissioner General of Examinations, Sri Lanka in 2023, 2024 or 2025.
- Applicants applying for Marine Engineering Technology or Nautical Studies (Set 1) should have obtained a Credit Pass (C) for English Language at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination.
- Age Limit: Below 24 years as at 31 December 2025
- Priority: Applicants below 20 years of age as at 31.12.2025 will be given preference for admission to the Marine Engineering Technology and Nautical Studies courses.
- A special medical test and interview will also be conducted for selection to these two courses.
Selection Method
- Selection will be based on G.C.E. (A/L) performance and the aptitude test conducted by the Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa.
- Candidates who pass the aptitude test will be selected according to the merit order of G.C.E. (A/L) results, based on Z-Scores.
- 40% merit quota and 60% district quota will be applied.
- For allocation to the field of study, aptitude test marks and the applicant’s order of preference for the fields will be considered.
How to Apply
- Submit the online application through the online application form available at www.itum.mrt.ac.lk
- After submitting the online application, download the auto-generated printable copy of the application.
- Get the required sections of the printed application certified as instructed in the application form.
- Send the completed hard copy by Registered Post, marked “NDT Admission – 2026/2027” on the top-left corner of the envelope.
