The Welfare Benefits Board (WBB) has released the first list of eligible beneficiaries under the Aswesuma Welfare Benefits Programme following the updating of applicant information.
According to the official announcement dated 28 October 2026, the first list is based on information updated up to 27 October 2026.
Aswesuma Eligible Beneficiaries List 2026
The first list includes 991,800 eligible beneficiaries under the following two categories.

A total of 1,391,830 families are not eligible for Aswesuma benefits according to the first list.

Aswesuma Appeals and Objections 2026
Applicants who wish to submit appeals or public objections regarding the published list can do so during the following period.
- Starting Date: 29 October 2026
- Closing Date: 11 November 2026
How to Submit Appeals and Objections
- Application Forms: Download the relevant application forms from www.wbb.gov.lk or obtain them from the Welfare Benefits Information Unit at the relevant Divisional Secretariat Office.
- Each appellant can submit only one appeal. Public objections can also be submitted anonymously.
Aswesuma Payments for Newly Eligible Beneficiaries
According to the announcement, the following arrangements have been made for newly eligible beneficiaries:
- Payment Date: 27 November 2026
- Letters for Opening Bank Accounts: From 12 November 2026
- Payment Method: Benefits will be paid only to an Aswesuma bank account.
Next Aswesuma Name List 2026
The Welfare Benefits Board expects to publish the second list of newly eligible beneficiaries in December 2026. This list will be based on information updated for a further 740,127 families.
