Calling Applications for Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and English Language Teaching Degree Programme (2026/2027) Conducted by The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL)

This degree programme is designed for students and teachers who wish to strengthen their academic and professional qualifications in English Language and English Language Teaching.

• Medium: English

Admission Requirements – Applicants should fulfill one of the following qualifications:

1. Possess the OUSL Diploma in English Language & Literature (application required), OR
2. Possess a Diploma in Teaching English (ESL) of 2 years’ duration from a National College of Education (NCOE), OR
3. Possess any other recognized 2-year Teacher Training Qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language, acceptable to the OUSL Senate, OR
4. Possess passes in three (03) subjects (including English Literature) at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination or an equivalent qualification.

Selection Test – All applicants, except those who qualify under category (1), are required to pass a selection test conducted by the Department of Language Studies.
