Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the Post of Trainee Secretarial Assistant 2026.

Job Post: Trainee Secretarial Assistant

Educational Qualifications

• Passed GCE O/L in 06 Subjects in one sitting with 03 Credit passes including English Language, AND
• Passed GCE A/L in 02 Subjects (excluding General English and General Knowledge), obtained in the same sitting, AND
• Minimum six months Diploma / Certificate course in Secretarial Practice (English Medium) offered by any recognized institution registered with TVEC

Experience

• Having experience as a Personal Assistant / Secretary Assistant / Secretary in a recognized organization or in the banking/financial sector will be considered an added qualification.

Other Required Skills and Competencies

• Should have a typing speed of 20 words per minute in English.
• Possessing a certificate in Sinhala/Tamil typing will be considered an added qualification.
• Good written and spoken knowledge of English and Sinhala/Tamil languages.
• Excellent communication skills with an attractive personality.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.

Age Limit

• Applicants should be below 28 years of age.

Training & Benefits

• The training period will be two (02) years.
• A monthly allowance will be paid during the training period:
  • 1st Year: Rs. 45,000/- per month
  • 2nd Year: Rs. 60,000/- per month
• Upon successful completion of the two-year training period and fulfillment of the required criteria to the satisfaction of the Bank, selected trainees will be confirmed as Secretary Assistant – Grade I in the permanent service of the Bank.
