The Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission has called for applications for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment of Colonization Officer, Grade III in Department of Land Administration, Eastern Province – 2026

Educational Qualifications
- Passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in one sitting, including a language (Sinhala/Tamil/English), Science and Mathematics, with the required credit passes.
- Passed three subjects at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in one sitting, including at least two subjects from the relevant Science/Mathematics/Technology/Agriculture streams, excluding General English and the Common General Test.
Professional Qualifications
Applicants should possess one of the following:
- A two-year Diploma Certificate in Agriculture obtained from one of the specified Agricultural Schools.
- A Diploma Certificate in Agriculture from the Hardy Technical Institute.
- A two-year Diploma Certificate in Agriculture awarded by a government-recognized institution.
- Any other qualification accepted as equivalent by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
Residency Requirement
Applicants should have been continuously residing in the Eastern Province for at least one year immediately preceding the closing date of applications.
Alternatively, applicants who have married a person who has continuously resided in the Eastern Province for at least three years and subsequently moved to the Eastern Province may apply, subject to documentary proof.
Age Limit
- 18 years or above
- Not more than 30 years
Examination Papers
The written examination consists of two papers:
- Aptitude Test – 100 marks – 1 hour
- Subject-related Technical Test – 100 marks – 2 hours
Candidates must obtain at least 40% marks in each paper to qualify.
