Calling Applications for Admission to Full-Time Courses (2026 Intake) Conducted by Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (German Tech / CGTTI)
The Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) – Moratuwa, operating under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, has called applications from suitably qualified male and female candidates for admission to its Full-Time Technical Training Courses – 2026 Intake conducted under the National Apprenticeship Scheme.
These highly recognized technical training programmes provide opportunities for young people to gain industry-relevant skills and qualifications in the mechanical, electrical, automobile and manufacturing sectors.

Eligibility Requirements
Age Limit
Applicants should be between 16 and 22 years of age as at 05 July 2026.
Educational Qualifications
- Passed in 06 subjects at the G.C.E. O/L Examination, including Sinhala/Tamil language (Medium) and Mathematics in one sitting; or
- Passed in 06 subjects at the London O/L Examination, including English language and Mathematics in one sitting.
Special Skills Category
Applicants who have achieved outstanding performance in innovation and technical competitions may also apply under the special skills category.
This includes candidates who:
- Have obtained places at provincial-level competitions, or
- Have received Merit Certificates or higher awards at national competitions conducted by the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical fields.
Medium of Instruction
- All courses are conducted in Sinhala Medium.
- The Automobile Technician course is available in both Sinhala and Tamil Medium.
- Theoretical lectures are conducted in English.
Entrance Examination
Applicants who possess the required qualifications and have paid the prescribed examination fee will be eligible to sit for the admission test.
Medium of Examination: Sinhala / Tamil
Examination Centres: Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Badulla & Anuradhapura
Examination Subjects: Mathematics, General Knowledge, Intelligence Test, Technical Knowledge, English Language and Technical Drawing.
Selection Method
- Aptitude Test & Interview – Candidates who obtain the highest marks in the written examination will be shortlisted for the aptitude test and interview.
- Final Selection – Final selection will be based on marks obtained from the aptitude test (40%), interview (50%) and the written examination (10%). Extra-curricular achievements will be given special consideration during the interview.
- Medical Examination – Selected candidates must pass a medical examination before admission.
