Admission of Students to Full-Time Courses (Intake 2027) at Automobile Engineering Training Institute (AETI) (Japan Tech), Orugodawatta
The Automobile Engineering Training Institute (Japan Tech), Orugodawatta, operating under the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), has called applications from Sri Lankan youth for the recruitment of apprentices for 2027.

- Automobile Technician
3 Years | Rs. 200,000 - Automobile Electrician
3 Years | Rs. 200,000 - Machinist / CNC
3 Years | Rs. 170,000 - Automobile A/C Technician
2 Years | Rs. 70,000 - Automobile Tinker
1½ Years | Rs. 30,000 - Automobile Painter
1½ Years | Rs. 30,000 - ICT Technician
1 Year | Rs. 40,000
Educational Qualifications
01. Automobile Technician, 02. Automobile Electrician, 03. Machinist / CNC, 04. Automobile A/C Technician
- Passed G.C.E (O/L) examination in two sittings with 6 subjects including Sinhala, Mathematics and Science.
05. Automobile Tinker / 06. Automobile Painter:
- Passed Grade 8 in a Government school or a Government-recognized school.
07. ICT Technician
- Passed G.C.E (O/L) examination in two sittings with 6 subjects including Sinhala, Mathematics and English.
Age Limit
Applicants must be 16-25 years old as at 01 January 2027. Both male and female applicants can apply.
Training & NVQ Qualification
The courses are conducted under the dual training system based on competency-based training under the NVQ framework. Selected courses include institutional and industry-based training.
Students who successfully complete the training and final assessments will receive the Automobile Engineering Training Institute certificate together with the internationally recognized NVQ Level 4 qualification awarded through the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission TVEC.
Selection
Applicants who meet the required educational qualifications must sit for a 1-hour aptitude written examination covering Mathematics and General Knowledge.
Candidates will be called for interviews based on their written examination marks. The written examination can be taken in Sinhala or English, while the training is conducted in Sinhala medium.
