National Tourist Guide Programme (Course) Intake 2026 at Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM)

The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) has officially opened applications for the National Tourist Guide Programme 2026 intake. This programme is designed for individuals who are interested in building a professional career in Sri Lanka’s tourism and travel industry as licensed tourist guides.

The full-time programme will be conducted over a period of 5 months at SLITHM Colombo. Preference will be given to applicants with foreign language proficiency other than English.

Entry Requirements – Applicants should fulfill one of the following qualifications:

• Passed G.C.E A/L Examination in one sitting (within two attempts)
• Possess a degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
• Minimum 5 years of service as a Licensed Chauffeur Tourist Guide
• Completed a Tour Guiding Programme at NVQ Level 04
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Licensed Area Tourist Guide

Age Limit: 18 – 65 years
