The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has invited applications for the First Efficiency Bar Examination 2026 for officers in the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS).

The examination is scheduled to be held in September 2026 for Teachers serving in National and Provincial Schools across Sri Lanka.

Eligibility – First EB Exam

The first Efficiency Bar Examination applies to teachers directly recruited to:

• Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS) – Class 3 Grade II
• Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS) – Class 3 Grade I
• Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS) – Class 2 Grade II

⚠ Important: The Gazette notification issued on 19 June 2026 applies only to the First Efficiency Bar Examination. Gazette notifications related to the second and third Efficiency Bar Examinations will be issued in the future.

Exam Preparation & Syllabus

As this is the first time these Efficiency Bar Examinations are being conducted, the relevant syllabus will be published on the official e-thaksalawa website of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education.

Candidates are advised to study independently using the syllabus and learning materials provided through the e-thaksalawa platform.
