Calling Applications for University Admission (2024/2025) by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the release schedule and application details for university admissions for the academic year 2024/2025.
According to the official notice, the University Admission Handbook will be available starting May 3, 2025, and the online application process will begin on May 9, 2025, closing on May 30, 2025.

How to Obtain the Handbook
Students can purchase the University Admission Handbook by paying Rs. 1000, using the following methods:
Direct Purchase:
- From the UGC Secretariat: No. 20, Ward Place, Colombo 07
- Through distributing agents appointed across the island
By Post:
- Deposit Rs. 1000 at:
- Bank of Ceylon – Account No. 0002323287 (Torrington Branch)
- People’s Bank – Account No. 167-1-001-4-3169407 (Town Hall Branch)
- Send the authenticated bank slip with a written request, specifying:
- Applicant’s name
- Preferred language medium of the handbook
- Include a self-addressed un-stamped envelope (minimum 37cm x 26cm)
