Bauddha Dharmacharya Certificate Exam Application 2026

The Department of Examinations has called for applications for the Bauddha Dharmacharya Certificate Examination – 2026, which is scheduled to be held in November 2026. Applications are being called for the examination applicable to the 2024 and 2025 years.

Application Period

• Applications Open: 21 August 2026
• Closing Date: 21 September 2026

Exam Medium – The examination will be conducted in Sinhala & English. Candidates can select only one language medium, and the selected medium cannot be changed later.

Eligibility – Applicants must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

• Passed the Daham Pasal Final Certificate Examination; or
• Passed the Pracheena Prarambha Examination; or
• Passed the Piriven Final Examination; or
• Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects with a Credit Pass in Buddhism.
