Islam Dheeniyath (Dharmacharya) Certificate Exam Application 2026

The Department of Examinations has called for applications for the Islam Dheeniyath (Dharmacharya) Certificate Examination for Years 2024 and 2025, which is scheduled to be held in November 2026.

Application Period

• Applications Open: 21 August 2026
• Closing Date: 21 September 2026

Exam Medium – The examination will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil & English. Candidates can select only one language medium, and the selected medium cannot be changed later.

Eligibility – Applicants must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

• Passed the Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal Final Certificate Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations.
• Obtained a Moulavi Certificate from an Arabic College registered under the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.
• Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination with three subjects, including Islam or Islam Civilization.
• Be a teacher with at least one year of teaching experience at an approved Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal or Arabic College, with a G.C.E. O/L Credit Pass in Islam.

How to Apply

Applications should be submitted through the Principal of the respective Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal or Arabic College. Applications have been sent to registered institutions, and the application form can also be downloaded from the Department of Examinations website.
