Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Planning Service (SLPS) – 2026

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has called applications for the Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Planning Service (SLPS) – 2026.

This examination is conducted to fill 24 existing vacancies in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Planning Service on a limited basis. Eligible Sri Lankan citizens who meet the required qualifications can apply online through the Department of Examinations.

Educational Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a degree awarded by

• A recognized local university, or
• A foreign university recognized by the UGC, or
• A university established under an Act of Parliament in Sri Lanka, or
• A degree recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978

Experience Requirements – Applicants must have:

• Confirmed permanent appointment in public service or provincial public service
• Minimum of 05 years active and satisfactory service
• Service under salary code:
  • MN-1-2025 or above, or
  • SL-1-2025

Important Notes

• Examination can be taken in Sinhala, Tamil, or English
• Online application must be completed in English only
• Applicants can attempt this limited exam only up to 3 times
• Religious clergy are not eligible to apply
• Admission card will be issued online only
